Muziek, drank en oog voor mooie vrouwen werden er met de paplepel in gegooid bij de fanfare van “de Blaberg”, een gehuchtje in de Antwerpse Zuiderkempen. De Emzjés, de vroegere basisbezetting worden bijgestaan door “ ’t Koadazer”: een vette blazerssectie (6 stuks!) en een muur van percussie. Der staat zelfs ook een ferm wijf op het podium. ” ‘t Koadazer” is dialect voor oud ijzer en verwijst naar den hoop oud ijzer waarmee ze hun publiek makkelijk aan het dansen krijgen. Het 10-tallig collectief laat opzwepende Balkantunes, vette beats én bierliekes door de boxen blazen. Nen DJ is er niks tegen. Ze brengen een enorme variatie aan stijlen en voelen zich overal thuis, want ze vinden hun weg evengoed naast het podium of aan uw balkon… Echter benadrukken ze steevast hun roots het liederlijke Blaubergse volksleven moét en zál beleefd worden. Tussenteksten zijn vol humor, nonsense en soms zo cliché als’t maar zijn kan. Elke noot, elke schreeuw nodigt u uit om mee te doen tot u volledig meegezogen wordt in deze waarachtige sfeer. Zonder schroom, gewoon plezant!
IN’T KORT werden ze al omschreven als “knotsgekke fanfare met zéér hoge besmettingsfactor“, en “de Blaberg Allstars”, “ambianceband ‘t Koadazer zette de keet op zijn kop”. Hun carrière is al rijkgevuld met shows (+200) in allerlei omstandigheden. ’t Koadazer stond ook mee aan de wieg van hét inmiddels internationale top wereldmuziekfestival: de Gitannekesfoor (Herselt). En veu as ge gen Blabergs of Nederlands kunt, vantaad kunne welle ‘t ok in’t Engels (of Spaans, Portugees, Arabisch en Hoeweg Fins)

Music, beer and an eye for female beauty are all features this band has picked up in the fanfare band of little town ‘Blauberg‘ between the meadows of Antwerp “Zuiderkempen”. At first, there were four men who wanted to put these qualities on display in the band “Emzjés”. To guarantee full satisfaction however, they consulted “ ‘t Koadazer” : a six-piece brass section with a wall of percussion and one particularly beautiful lady. Although their instruments were made of scrap-metal (koadazer is the Flemish dialect word for this scrap), they discovered how to put the audience’s legs to move and swing.
The specific ingredients for their discovery were uplifting Balkan tunes, popular hits, fat beats in a special brass-mix and Flemish drinking songs. Nothing a DJ could compete with when they blew this through their speakers. Now they feel at home in every situation to bring their huge variety of music styles. On the stage, next to it or beneath your balcony; they will always steal your heart and take you on a trip to their roots. In this way they make you experience how dissolute folk life of their little town should and will be lived. With their chats full of nonsense, crazy screams and loud horns they will invite you to join them in their weird but charming atmosphere.
